About FreeBillGen

Why it exists

FreeBillGen exists because issuing a clean, country-aware invoice should not require a monthly SaaS subscription priced higher than the invoice itself, and should not require a desktop accounting suite designed for someone else's bookkeeper. FreeBillGen is a hosted invoice generator at freebillgen.com with 249 selectable country and territory codes, 117 published jurisdiction research profiles and invoice labels in 80 language options. Some guidance may remain in English until it is reviewed. Every profile shows its evidence date; overdue profiles stay available for research but leave search discovery until reviewed. Registration is open worldwide and never asks for a card.

What it does

FreeBillGen creates professional PDF invoices for freelancers and small businesses worldwide. It supports multiple currencies and numbering series, client and company records, recurring schedules, and 117 sourced jurisdiction profiles. The selector covers 249 country and territory codes with editable defaults, not local legal advice. You can review generic UBL/CII and selected country XML mappings, manually upload selected supplier e-invoice files for review, add an eligible SEPA QR code, and show your own provider’s hosted Pay now link. Manual upload is not network receipt. FreeBillGen does not process payments. Check the current rules for each transaction.

Other features available today include self-service registration with email verification, optional second-factor login (TOTP authenticator apps and WebAuthn passkeys), language-aware invoice-amount spell-out where supported with an English or numeric fallback elsewhere, a dashboard with overdue and outstanding summaries, an invoice editor with autosave, and a command palette (Ctrl+K or Cmd+K) for keyboard navigation.

Why it is free

The current core is free. It requires no payment card and has no trial timer, invoice limit or watermark. Making and downloading a professional invoice does not require Pro. Optional Pro extras, including multiple companies, the write API and accounting-software exports, help cover the server bill for power users.

• No investors and no shareholders pressuring for monetization.
• No advertising, no third-party trackers, no behavioural analytics.
• No data sold or brokered; only disclosed service providers process what is needed under contract.
• Support email goes directly to the operator rather than a ticketing team.

Making and downloading a professional invoice is part of the current free core. Servers, email delivery, integrations and ongoing maintenance still cost money. Lifetime Pro helps fund the service through a defined set of software features with predictable ongoing costs: multiple companies, the write API and outbound webhooks, accounting exports, and auto-send on recurring schedules. Services with a direct per-use provider cost remain outside Lifetime Pro.

Pro is additive to the current free core. New Pro purchases have a one-time total of €49 for lifetime access to the listed software features, including applicable location-specific tax, with no subscription or renewal. Optional services with a direct per-use provider cost are not included; when offered, they use separate one-time credit packs that do not renew. Paddle shows the exact tax breakdown before you pay. Invoices remain accessible and exportable independently of Pro. Your data rights do not depend on your plan.

Who it is for

Freelancers and small businesses worldwide can register with an email address. The selector covers 249 countries and territories, with invoice labels in 80 language options; detailed sourced invoice research is published for 117 jurisdictions. Where a reviewed profile is unavailable or overdue, FreeBillGen says so and leaves the tax fields configurable. Users remain responsible for confirming current local requirements.

It is designed for a single operator per account (one set of credentials, one organization) rather than a multi-tenant platform with seats. It is not accounting software; it is invoicing software.

What it does not do yet

These features are not available today:

• Live two-way accounting sync - Pro exports Xero and QuickBooks files today, but automatic two-way sync is not built yet.
• Bank API integration and automatic payment reconciliation.
• Native iOS or Android apps. The responsive web app works in mobile browsers.
• Recurring card billing, saved-card auto-charge, or payment processing. The free Pay now field only links to a hosted page from your own provider; FreeBillGen does not create or process the payment.
• Multi-user / team-seat access - one operator per account today.

About the publisher

FreeBillGen is built and operated by MB Libranet, an independent EU business registered in Lithuania as a small partnership (Mažoji bendrija). It is the controller for account and service-operation data. For personal data that customers place in invoices, the customer may be the controller and FreeBillGen the processor. FreeBillGen has no support ticketing system and no chatbot. Email reaches the operator directly. Bug reports, VAT-rule corrections, and feature requests are all welcome - if you find a VAT calculation that looks wrong for your country, that is especially worth reporting; the goal is to be correct, not just plausible.
